Rachael + Kevin | St. Louis Engagement Photography

I’ve been feeling a little under the weather, so I thought I would cheer myself up by posting the engagement session from Rachael + Kevin. The most darling-est, humble-est and sweet-est couple I have ever met. I don’t even think they know just how pretty they are! And to top it off, they were super affectionate – which I love during a shoot!

We already fell in love with Kevin and his romantic picnic proposal, but get ready to fall in love with Rachael too. She arrived in this pretty little white dress from BCBG and nude heels! Love! And of course, Kevin is always looking quite handsome and charming! When I first met him he was wearing a cute little tie. So what’s not to love? These fashionistas definitely pull at my heart strings.

Rachael + Kevin plan to be married in January of 2012 with an evening ceremony at the Kirkwood Presbyterian Church and reception following at the St. Louis Club. I’m keeping my fingers crossed for a beautiful landscape of snow!

Enjoy the images!

Jen + Brian | St. Louis Wedding Photography

Got a great wedding to feature today! I want to showcase this one because A. I love this couple and B. I love all the details! Now, let me tell ya about Jen. She is super funny! Her notes and emails make me laugh out loud. She loves the color purple (all shades!).:)She has an infectious smile/laugh/happy disposition that just puts you in a good mood. Even in tough times, like losing her grandma just a few days before the wedding or facing her mom’s stage four cancer, Jen still lights up the room!

So ….. leave it to her to find St. Louis’s newest, hippest hotel to get ready – Hotel Ignacio! Awesome! St. Louis really needed a boutique hotel like this. We always encourage a nice hotel room or pretty house with lots of available light for the getting ready shots. I’m not one for loving macaroni crosses in the background of a bridal portrait. 😉

You might remember their engagement session – which was on a very cold day in February! We had to take mini breaks to warm up the fingers! So a nice warm May wedding day sounded perfect to me! Jen and (handsome) Brian tied the knot at Concordia Lutheran Church and had a fabulous reception at the Moto Museum! I got lost in all the details of this wedding. I know how much time, love and effort it takes to find + create the perfect ones! Jen reached out to several Etsy artists to make all her wedding day collateral work nicely together. From the Save-the-Date (which featured one of their engagement shots! and the sweet little mention of HSR Photography!), a photo booth sign, to the “Bride” + “Groom” chair signs. Listed below the images, are all the Esty shops if you are interested in doing something like this for your BIG day!

Jen + Brian wanted to head downtown to the Old Post Office to capture their bridal party portraits. So we worked that area until it was time to venture on to the reception! The Moto Museum has this cool magnetic wall to clip the table seating cards which featured more engagement photos! I also loved the signature drink (which we did try … after the wedding!) called The Grand Basin – where it all started – the love and the proposal.

Enjoy the pretty images and see just how happy this couple is. During Brian’s “groom portraits” he mouthed “I Love You.” I swooned. I thought he was talking to me, but obviously Jen was right next to me. hee! hee! He is so sweet.

Thank you so much for letting us be part of your BIG day. We had so much fun, and really appreciated you treating us like true guests.

Sarah + Chris | St. Louis Wedding Photography

We are so super lucky to get these laid back couples! And so gorgeous, no doubt. So I woke up all nervous because it was completely raining! I know it’s considered lucky, but the word “rain” and “wedding day” do not go hand-in-hand for me. We had a scare last year, but by the time we arrived it had all cleared up. So rain is not so good, but I think all day yucky mist is worse. Sarah and Chris embraced it and had a great time! What rain?! I loved it. So of course they were seriously up for anything, and they were able to rock the umbrella – the same gray one I used on my own wedding day! Sarah envisioned some cityscape and cobblestone streets for her wedding portraits, so we headed on down to the Landing. I knew the river would be high, but luckily, we had just the right amount of space to work, while the water was inching towards us. And for a few short moments it stopped misting so we could also capture some great photos without the umbrella!

I had so much fun with Sarah and Chris on their engagement, I just knew it was going to go smoothly on their wedding day! They just have this really cute connection, and I *love* the two of them together. We started with the “first look” at the Renaissance, and ended the sweet day at the City Museum for both the ceremony + reception. Thank you so much for letting us share in your special event. Wishing you many years of happiness! We hope you love + cherish the photos forever!

Grace Ann | 11 days old | St. Louis Newborn Photography

Is it June already?! The month of May was filled with new arrivals, and little Grace Ann was one of them. Luckily, mom was able to get some rest during this session, while my assistant, was the best dad – EVER! He really had a way of making her sleep so cozy, and I have officially hired him as my new assistant. (Wink!)

My mom made the cute little button hat and crocheted cocoon! Her dear friend, Darlene, made the sweet little vintage-inspired flower headband. If you are interested in purchasing a similar item, let me know! Looks like an Etsy shop is in the making!

Enjoy the images!

Olivia Marie | 6 days old | St. Louis Newborn Photography

Welcome to the world sweet baby Olivia Marie! This is my bff’s newest little addition to her family! She joins BIG sister Eden – who you will instantly drool over. Her eyes! Her hair! I just love her. She wanted to “elp” (help) with the shoot, so I let her hold the signage. 😉

I’m also including the images from the owl-themed baby shower I hosted for Maria in Kansas City! Don’t laugh at the cake. My mom and I made it, in attempt to save a little money. Next time we are just going to buy a fondant cake! If you haven’t tried the cake truffles and glitter bites from  Sarah’s CakeShop & Catering, you better go get one now! They are to die for! Yummy!

Enjoy a few of my favorites and then go have yourself a great holiday weekend!
