We were really lucky to meet Heather and her sweet mom at a bridal show in St. Louis! The moment I met her I knew we had a great connection – and I was ready to pack my bags and head to Savannah, GA! I’ve never been, and all I could envision was beautiful architecture and moss-draped oak trees – a very romantic city for photographs. And I was right! Throw in a little Southern charm, historic homes, horse carriages, boutique shopping, cobblestone streets and ice tea and you’ve got yourself a charming backdrop for a beautiful wedding!
As most of you know, Ryan and I had a very small, intimate wedding. Heather + Cory decided to do the same after having vacationed in Savannah and falling in love with the city. They decided to have a few of their nearest and dearest friends + family at their special occasion. They had great help from a local wedding coordinator – th & company events. These gals are fabulous and brought in the very best vendors. I LOVED the flowers and the clever company name – A to Zinnias. And the reception music, the Silver Lining Trio, was super awesome. I wish these guys lived in St. Louis!
Usually when I go through the images I have a big smile on my face, from ear to ear. But this time, I could not stop tearing up! I guess it reminded me of my own BIG day. You can really tell how close the family is. The day was full of huge hugs + smiles! I wanted to share some of these raw moments – like Heather’s dad seeing her for the very first time, and the moment he lifted the veil (the same one her mom wore!) during the ceremony. Sniff. Needless to say, Ryan and I both needed tissues!
We had so many great locations within the historic downtown to shoot. One being an old historic home, where, not knowing at the time we selected the location, it was one of the homes Heather + Cory visited on a previous trip! Ha, it was definitely meant to be! Then we headed over to the famous Forsyth Park to capture some stunning images with those trees I had envisioned. I should have brought a little bit of the moss back to sprinkle in Forest Park!
And of course, we captured a few in front of the famous fountain in the center of the park. Heather just looked stunning, and was quite the Southern Belle! And of course, Cory is as handsome and charming as can be!
Heather + Cory – we are so thrilled you chose us to be a part of your special day. We love and appreciate that you trusted two St. Louis photographers to travel with you to capture all the wonderful moments. Thank you so much! We hope you love the images!
If anyone out there is gettin’ married and looking to travel to a destination outside of St. Louis, just let us know! We would be thrilled to join you – we LOVE having the opportunity to shoot in new places.
