Mary & John | St. Louis Wedding Photography

Oh I feel so behind in my wedding posts! Mary and John celebrated a beautiful, intimate ceremony + reception at Cafe DeMenil. What a great venue! The afternoon ceremony took place under the gazebo on the grounds of the mansion. A friend of Mary and John’s was the officiant and it was his first wedding – but he sounded like an ol’ pro and delivered some wonderful words. There was even a tree planting during the ceremony!

There were some incredibly funny and thoughtful toasts made by the wedding party. And I mean almost e-v-e-r-y single person in the wedding party! Quite verbose, but very heart-felt – clearly these two are loved by their friends and family! After dinner, the crowd enjoyed some great tunes and the dance floor was packed. It looked like everyone was having a blast. John even had a momentary scare when he lost his brand new wedding band! Thankfully it was recovered!

One last thing I have to mention – we think that Mary and John might qualify as the smartest newlyweds we know. They are both super-science-y people that met at Georgia Tech! Rumor has it that John even used a spreadsheet to run a complex decision-analysis model on Mary’s qualifications as a bride-to-be! Ha! Could make for some smart kids. (Wink. Wink.)

It was truly an honor to be a part of your BIG day. Thank you. Hope you both LOVE the pics.

DanaDecember 10, 2010 - 12:49 am

The ring/hot bridesmaids picture was from “Dana” not “Dan.” Woops.

DanDecember 10, 2010 - 12:48 am

I especially like the closeup of John holding the ring. Was that before or after it went missing. Careful with that thing John-O! PS: Your bridesmaids are HOT!

I agree with Heather’s comment. The pic with Mary in front of the blue shutter is a really cool shot…it reminds me of a modern day wedding version of the American Gothic painting.
